This painting is one of my personal favorites. Here you have a man with his fishing lines in the water, the boat trolls along but the man is not watching the fishing poles. His mind is elsewhere, he is contemplating life itself. Where does he fit into the big picture of life? What does he derive his happiness from? Is he lost, is he content, is he searching for truth?
