I love to paint landscapes. That is one thing that made this commission so exciting. The couple that commissioned this piece own land in Colorado and provided me with many photographs of different views of their property. They wanted two different views that actually exist combined into a view that does not actually exist. The mountain in the distance, which is Mt. Blanca, was painted into a scene with these beautiful aspens, thus creating a new and unique view all its own of their property. The result is “A View Through The Aspens” Lots of energy in this piece, which is complimented beautifully by the serenity and the solidness of Mt. Blancha in the distance. A delightful balancing act going on in this painting. Two other Colorado landscape paintings have developed as a result of this commission: “Judy’s Rock” and Vannerson’s View”.
